Success! New trees planted in Stanley Avenue

Some good news! Two new trees have now been planted in Stanley Avenue, replacing large trees which had to be felled last year because the roots were badly damaging the pavement.

When the old trees were removed, Lib Dem campaigner, Michele Christensen, who lives in the road, consulted other residents and found overwhelming support for replanting. Alan Bacon then had a site meeting with the local highway technician and County Councillor Patricia Birchley, and Cllr Birchley kindly agreed to fund replacement trees from her county council Community Leaders' Fund. The new trees are rowans and shouldn't grow too big or damage the pavement.
