Peter Jones - "Thank you for your support"

Peter Jones
Commenting on the result of the General Election, Peter Jones says:
"I'm grateful to the 7,179 that voted for me and the Liberal Democrats, thank you. My colleagues and I were pleased to meet so many local residents throughout the campaign, and we're grateful to everyone that took the time to talk with us about their local concerns.
"Sadly, I said at the very beginning of the process that this was an unnecessary election, and I think now that even Mrs May would agree with me. This was supposed to be "the Brexit election" but we are hardly any further forward. I sense a mood amongst most people to 'get on with it' - the minor drawback being that nobody can agree what 'it' is!
"Whenever the next general election happens (not for a while in my opinion, but we'll see...) we in the Liberal Democrats will continue to argue for a society that is open to all, united in support of liberty and tolerant of the opinions of others.
"Once again, thank you for your support."
