Liberal Democrats the main challengers in Chesham & Amersham - Peter Jones

The Liberal Democrats are once again the only real challengers to the local Conservative hegemony after the recent elections to Buckinghamshire County Council. Liberal Democrats were the closest challengers to the Tories in eight of the nine seats in Chiltern District. The Liberal Democrats won more votes than Labour, UKIP and Green combined.
Local district councillor and parliamentary candidate Peter Jones added ""For anyone wondering which other party is best placed to defeat the government in the general election, the answer is clear. Once again it is the Liberal Democrats that are the only real opposition. None of Labour, Green or UKIP can win here."
"Labour's share of the vote went down, from 9.9% four years ago to 9.5%. UKIP's vote has collapsed, there is no longer any decent reason to vote UKIP. And as for the Greens, just 2.9% of the total vote is not going to improve. I urge all voters that are opposed to the government to unite behind the Liberal Democrats to send a message to the government".
